Schaller was founded in the 19th century, and is still in the Schaller family, and is still making papier-mache figures in the traditional way. Their specialty today is Santas, which we always carry a great choice of , but they also make Easter and Nativity sets. Most of their Santas are called candy boxes. The bottom of the figure comes off, and if the item is to be a gift, tradition calls for the figure to be filled with hard candy, as part of the gift. Thomas Schaller runs the company with his sister, who meticulously paints EVERY figures face, herself, by hand.
